Hana Hicks (she/her) holds a Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia, where she studied the relationship between psychological stress and exercise under Dr. Eli Puterman. Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, she completed two undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Psychology at Saint Mary’s University.
Her work explores how different exercise intensities interact with the physical and psychological stress response, as well as how stress impacts physical performance and overall well-being. She has led large-scale research projects on exercise interventions and mental health while managing and mentoring multiple teams. Beyond research, Hana has developed fitness programs for diverse populations and maintained a hands-on approach to understanding how movement can be used to build resilience. She remains passionate about bridging the gap between psychological and physiological health to improve quality of life.
